Skolnik to Speak on Spirituality and Neuroscience in Jerusalem

Christine SkolnikDr. Christine M. Skolnik of the Department of Writing, Rhetoric & Discourse at DePaul University has been invited to speak on a panel about spirituality and neuroscience at the Neuroplasticity and Cognitive Modifiability conference in Jerusalem, June 2-5, 2013, sponsored by the Feuerstein Institute. Dr. Skolnik will speak on a panel titled “Materialism v. Spiritualism on Brain Plasticity” with experts on spirituality and neuroscience from Israel.

Dr. Skolnik has been conducting research in neuroscience and rhetoric for over fifteen years, delivering papers at various academic conferences in the U. S. and publishing her work in technical-writing and critical-thinking related publications. Her manuscript Rhetoric and the Plastic Brain is currently under revision, but available in draft form on academia.edu.

Dr. Skolnik has a PhD in English, with a focus on rhetoric, from Penn State. She has been teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in rhetoric and technical writing for 20 years. She is also a certified spiritual director and recently completed a second MA, in Urban Sustainability.
