The WRD Department hosted Dr. Frankie Condon for its Autumn Quarter Writing & Rhetoric Across Borders Speaker Series. Dr. Condon, an Associate Professor at the University of Waterloo, led a workshop and a talk on anti-racism and racial imaginaries.

For the Autumn Quarter’s Writing & Rhetoric Across Borders Speaker Series, WRD has invited Dr. Frankie Condon to speak on Tuesday, October 22. In her talk, Dr. Condon will discuss the racial imaginations present among writing teachers and tutors and assess how it influences the pedagogical values and systems at play in their environments.

DePaul WRD partners with College of DuPage for the Curricular Pathway in Writing and Rhetoric

On November 21, 2018, DePaul’s Department of Writing, Rhetoric, & Discourse signed a formal agreement with the College of DuPage (COD) that creates a curriculum pathway relationship between the English department at COD and the Major in WRD.

Faculty Spotlight: Tim Elliott

In autumn quarter 2018, WRD extended a warm welcome to Professor Tim Elliott, the newest tenure-track member of the WRD faculty. He will teach undergraduate and graduate Professional Writing courses at DePaul. This quarter, Professor Elliott is teaching graduate course WRD 523: Editing and undergraduate course WRD 301: Writing in Workplace Contexts.
